Art Direction of the lounge, club Gig in Rio de Janeiro. Roberto Chalu, a former GUCCI NY employee came to Rio and made his dream come true openning this exquisite space to fuse art, food, drinks and sound. Its in the famous neighborhood of Ipanema, yet it is hidden from the unwarned. Brazil´s VOGUE magazine editor recommends the spot, and I am proud to be part of this project since its embrio still in New York City with Roberto.
The place is a mix of ideas…with, belive you or not, lots of inspiration from Artur Barrio´s work which I had the pleasure to work with as well. The logo is a mashup/appropriation of his typo and the lighting another touch…
